CEPA Gallery now offers incredibly unique Birthday Parties for children ages 8 and up!

During their educational and very entertaining darkroom party kids will learn the science of photography through the creation of photograms and pinhole camera photographs, using photographic paper and chemistry.





What is a photogram? A photogram is made by placing objects onto photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The paper is then developed in photo chemistry and the image is revealed!

What is a pinhole camera photograph? Kids make cameras out of quart paint cans and use photographic paper as film. Weather permitting the children use their cameras outside and develop their pictures in the darkroom.






CEPA Gallery darkroom parties provide a counter to our increasingly media inundated culture and offer children a truly magical experience grounded in an artform and techniques that are over 150 years old. Come explore this artform with us!

Availability:	Birthday Parties can be scheduled on Saturdays between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Sundays between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Alternate times as well as evening parties can be accommodated based on room availability. Parties must be booked a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of date. A $50 deposit is due at the time of booking.
Fees:	$200 for up to 10 children CEPA Members receive 10% discount
Party Fee includes:	2 hours private use of Darkroom and adjoining Classroom Unique Photographic Invitations All materials for children to make and take home their photograms and pinhole photographs Guests are responsible for all refreshments. (Prima Pizza and many other restaurants are in close proximity to CEPA.) Guests are encouraged to bring any additional supplies and/or decorations.
Booking:	A non-refundable $50 deposit is required at time of booking. To receive the reduced member rate for parties please identify yourself as a member at the time of booking. Please call (716) 856-2717 for information and to make the reservation for the party. Birthday parties can book quickly, so please try to reserve at least 1 month prior to the date of the party.
