Eric Jensen: Chapters

Eric Jensen is one of last year's Exhibition Award winners. Influenced by the anthropological and archeological displays of museums and institutions, Eric Jensen's work concentrates on transcending the banality of insignificant every day objects through isolation and scale. Often floating on pure black backgrounds and printed in large formats trinkets such as charm bracelets, Cracker Jack toys and postage stamps take on a false air of relevance and magnitude. Like relics or artifacts documented for historical record these objects demand to be revered. Viewed together the exhibit forces the viewer to define his place among the grand order of all things. Can it not be said that significance is in the eye of the beholder?
