CEPA SUMMER PHOTO CAMPS


Under the instruction of professional teaching artists, CEPA's Summer Photography Camps engage kids in both digital and film photography, pinhole cameras, darkroom printing, digital arts, animation, creative writing and bookmaking.  For more information on daily activities, contact Lauren at CEPA Gallery, 856-2717 or by email at lauren@cepagallery.com


Camps are one week in length (5 days) for 3 hours each day. 
There are 4 camps in each age group (8-12 & 13-17) to choose from.  


CAMPS for Kids ages 8 to 12

July 8 to 12, 9:00 a.m. to Noon Cut-out Animation

Students in this camp will create storyboards, direct and shoot a short animated video using paper cut outs and digital still cameras. At the end of the week students will have a basic understanding of the animation process, how to create the illusion of depth in animation, and how to render a video using PhotoShop. This is for students interested in drawing, photography, and PhotoShop.

July 15 to 19, 9:00 a.m. to Noon Advanced Camp

This camp is for students that are ready to try some more advanced photography. They must have a digital SLR or hybrid camera so they can use manual settings.

July 29 to August 2, 9:00 a.m. to Noon

This camp is designed for students to learn about traditional black and white photography as well as digital photography. Students learn the science and art of photography, shooting with pinhole cameras, developing photos in the darkroom and learning some basic PhotoShop.

August 5 to 9, 9:00 a.m. to Noon

This camp is designed for students to learn about traditional black and white photography as well as digital photography. Students learn the science and art of photography, shooting with pinhole cameras, developing photos in the darkroom and learning some basic PhotoShop.

Students signing up for the camps should be able to attend every day for the week they have chosen. Payment is due at time of registration. No walk-ins. The cost is $175 per camp and includes all supplies. Classes are limited to eight, so call early to reserve a space! Please call 856-2717 to register. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will not receive a refund.
