Mary Carothers & Sue Wrbican

Using campgrounds as studio outposts, Mary Carothers and Sue Wribican have been entertaining a transient audience of fellow tourist.

On a trip to collect circumstantial media the artists divided a six week residency between two campgrounds in close proximity to two of North America's major tourist attractions, Niagara Falls in Canada and the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. Adapting a metaphor of a burning couch the collaboration became a surrender of the comfort zone.
