Cerro was very concerned about his being infested with parasites and other vermin. Twice daily enemas, and powerful homemade tonics were his primary defense against these unwelcome residents of his flesh. Cerro was propelled into this regimen upon reading that the cells that make up a human body are outnumbered by the other organisms that live within each person. Cerro was inclined to believe that these organisms exerted some form of collective influence on his life and he intended to eliminate it.
