Tseng Kwong Chi

Tseng Kwong Chi’s Citizen of the World series features one of the most original and engaging series of self-portraits in contemporary photography. By photographing himself in front of numerous cultural and architectural monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, Grand Canyon and Disneyland, Chi is able to critically catalog cultural signifiers that raise crucial issues of nationality and global identity of the late 20th century. Selected images will be incorporated in CEPA’s Paradise in Search of a Future.
