CEPA Gallery Announces Visions of Greater Buffalo 2009 Exhibition Now Open at CEPA Gallery

Tickets on Sale Now for the Silent Auction and Festive Celebration Saturday, April 25, 2009

CEPA Gallery is pleased to announce Visions of Greater Buffalo 2009. Now in its third season, Visions is a unique biennial endeavor that highlights the people and places of Western New York with images created by 100 of its most interesting and influential community members. CEPA provides each participant with a Kodak single-use camera and asks that they document their lives and surroundings. One photograph from each participant is chosen by a selection committee, and is then enlarged and framed and featured in an exhibition at CEPA Gallery. The project culminates with a festive celebration and silent auction, creating an opportunity for Western New Yorkers to come together, mingle with the VIPs, and purchase unique works of art in support of CEPA Gallery’s education and exhibition programs.

Are you in search of new artwork for your home, office, or to give as a gift? The Visions of Greater Buffalo silent auction will feature close to 100 unique photographs of the region taken by local celebrities. Bidding is now underway at CEPA Gallery, where an exhibition of all Visions of Greater Buffalo 2009 images is on view in the Flux and Passageway Galleries through Saturday, April 25. The Visions images can also be viewed at www.cepagallery.org.

The Visions of Greater Buffalo benefit event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at the historic Market Arcade Building in downtown Buffalo’s Theatre District. An audience of over 200 guests will be present at the event, including the VIPs and other influential business leaders, community members, arts supporters and many others from the Greater Buffalo region.

Admission to the event is $10 per person and includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres catered by Amy McCarthy and Fredi and music by déjà blü; cash bar. The reception begins at 7:00 pm in the Market Arcade; the silent auction takes place from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
