Home Sweet Home & Citizenship

Saiman Li has provided CEPA Gallery with two window installations as Public Art components to his gallery exposition for UNCOMMON TRAITS.

The first window is an installation titled Home Sweet Home which is comprised of a portrait and images of his left and right hand which are back-lit. Strung between these images are articles of clothing and fabric (some with text printed on the surface) on clothes-lines.

In the second window. Saiman Li has created a new variation of his work Citizenship with enlargements of his green card and legal document of United States Citizenship along with several texts on how to become a citizen. Mounted on the window are typed questions on clear acetate from the United States citizenship handbook.

Note: For more examples and information on Saiman Li's work visit Part II of the UNCOMMON TRAITS exhibition online where Li's work was shown in the CEPA Gallery and at the Windows on Main Street Public Art site.
