Utilizing kinetic sculptural elements, sound and computer animations in an installation environment, Joseph DeLappe examines the context of objects, images, and beliefs in the age of a cyber-technological facade. The intent of Touch, See, Believe is to create a kinetic image and object experience which mimics in real-time and space the practice of creating the illusion of three dimensional objects in computer space. The effect of using considerably low-tech sculptural elements contrasted with projections of simulated computer modeled objects creates a context for considering our collective desire for virtual image/object escapism. |
